South Carolina's First P.F. Chang’s and Mimi’s Café Coming to Shops at Greenridge

Greenville, S.C., Aug. 9, 2005 – Crosland’s Shops at Greenridge, a 600,000-square-foot regional center the company is developing at I-85 and Woodruff Road, has recently added three restaurants and three retailers to its growing portfolio of upscale tenants.  P.F. Chang’s, Mimi’s Café and Salsarita’s Fresh Cantina broaden the dining experience, while Chico’s, Swoozie’s and White House/Black Market add to the array of specialty shops.

P.F. Chang’s, Mimi’s and Swoozies are all new to South Carolina, as are many of Crosland’s previously announced tenants.

P.F. Chang’s and Mimi’s will be stand-alone locations at the corner of Woodruff and Garlington roads, anchoring the shopping center’s southeast corner beside Lowe’s.  The other new tenants will be in the Shops at Greenridge’s village core, a pedestrian-friendly area designed to encourage window-shopping and casual dining.  Chico’s, Swoozie’s and White House/Black Market will be on the fountain side of the village, along with previously announced Brixx Wood-Fired Pizza, Cold Stone Creamery, HandPicked, Panera Bread and Yankee Candle.  Salsarita’s is at the other end of the village’s pedestrian walkway, with Ann Taylor Loft, Barnes & Noble, Great Clips, Talbots and ULTA.

New Dining Experiences

Fresh, contemporary and consistently outstanding are the trademarks of P.F. Chang's China Bistro.  The first of its kind in South Carolina, P.F. Chang's is a restaurant that has been embraced by diners across the country.  The P.F. Chang's experience is a unique combination of Chinese cuisine, attentive service, wine, and tempting desserts all served in a stylish, high-energy bistro.

P.F. Chang's cuisine is reflective of China's evolving culinary landscape. The menu features traditional Chinese offerings and innovative dishes that illustrate the emerging influence of Southeast Asia on modern Chinese cuisine.

Featuring family-style American cuisine with a touch of Paris and New Orleans, Mimi’s Café offers three meals a day in an upscale, diner-like setting.  The interior will feature antique stone floors, checkered tile walls and heavy beamed ceilings.  The restaurant will feature several distinct dining areas including a casual 78-seat New Orleans-style Garden Room, a Market Café and Wine Bar, a more formal 48-seat Bistro Room, and a trellised outdoor patio.

Mimi’s portions are plentiful with traditional dishes for each course as well as freshly baked goods.  Signature items include Chinese chicken salad, pot roast, home-style soups, and even New Orleans-themed desserts such as bread pudding with whiskey sauce.

"P.F. Chang’s and Mimi’s Café provide dining experiences that are unlike any restaurants in the area, so it is only fitting to bring their first Carolinas location to one of the region’s most distinctive shopping centers," said Lance Lancaster, real estate broker with Core Properties, which is handling the center’s outparcels.

Salsarita’s Fresh Cantina will offer 3,004 square feet of quick casual dining, where customers can watch as made-to-order meals are prepared while they wait.  Diners begin with a "fresh-mex" menu containing burritos, tacos, nachos, quesadillas and salads, then direct the cook staff on their preference of meat or vegetable and corresponding topping ingredients.  Salsarita’s also offers a wide selection of beverages including monster margaritas and fiesta favorites.

Salsarita’s will serve lunch and dinner as well as offer a complete children’s menu.  Also, the restaurant will offer phone-in, pick-up service for those who prefer to dine at home.

Specialty Shops

White House/Black Market will occupy 2,234 square feet in a boutique setting.  White House/Black Market is known for its timeless style and gracious service, with clothing and décor that is "decidedly feminine."  This upscale store features women’s clothing, lingerie, accessories, jewelry and gifts exclusively in shades of black and white.

Chico’s women’s fashions will comprise 2,902 square feet of retail space.  Offering exclusively designed, private-label women’s clothing and related accessories, Chico’s focuses on style, comfort and "easy ware, easy care" apparel.  All items are designed exclusively in-house, utilizing Chico’s unique sizing guide for versatility and comfort.

With its first location in South Carolina, the 5,331-square-foot Swoozie’s will bring "the art of celebration" to the Shops at Greenridge.  With a range of specialty gifts, novelty party items, social papers and signature stationeries, Swoozie’s helps customers set the appropriate tone for all occasions.  Offering the nation’s largest selection of invitations, store associates will also assist with customized bridal invitations, corporate party details and birthday party planning.

"Our goal from the outset was to create something truly different for the city of Greenville, drawing customers from around the region and encouraging them to stay a while," said Charles Thrift, leasing associate with Crosland.  "Between the shopping center’s design and its many dining and retail options that are new to this market, we have set the stage to achieve this goal."
