DeWoolfson Down To Open Oct. 1 at StoneCrest

Charlotte, N.C. (September 4, 2001) — DeWoolfson Down, a premier manufacturer of luxury down products for the home, will soon be opening its newest location at StoneCrest at Piper Glen in Charlotte. The store will occupy 1,972 square feet of space.

“StoneCrest offers the ‘retail village’ concept we prefer,” said Richard Schaffer, president of DeWoolfson Down. “Furthermore, the Piper Glen/Ballantyne area of South Charlotte, with its country clubs, golf communities and new resort provides a ‘get-away’ feeling from the city. It’s an ideal setting for us, and we look forward to opening next month.”

DeWoolfson Down currently operates retail stores in Banner Elk and Blowing Rock, N.C., and Hilton Head/Bluffton, S.C. Stores feature the company’s own brand of white goose down comforters, feather beds and now-famous pillows, as well as America’s largest selection of fine European linens for the bed and bath. Its products are found in fine linen stores and catalogs around the country, including the French-owned Yves Delorme and the esteemed catalog merchant, Hammacher-Schlemmer.

“We are very excited to be able to add DeWoolfson Down to our list of tenants,” said Susan McGuire, Vice President Retail Operations. “Their loyal customer base further complements the exclusive retailers at StoneCrest.” Leasing associate Charles Thrift represented Crosland in the transaction.
