Jim Merrifield named Ambassador for Economic Development for SC, June 07,2002

On April 23, 2002, Jim Merrifield was honored at a ceremony awarding him the title of Ambassador for Economic Development for South Carolina. Jim Merrifield is the President of Crosland's Office & Industrial Division. The Ambassadors program recognizes business executives who have provided exemplary assistance to South Carolina's economic development efforts. One Ambassador is named per county. Jim was recognized for Crosland's contribution in Lancaster County, S.C. with the development of 521 Corporate Center and Bailes Ridge.

The 521 Corporate Center is a 79-acre site near the North Carolina border. At completion, it will consist of nine buildings totaling 800,000 sf of office space which would attract 2,500 employees. The Bailes Ridge site is a mixed-use site in the planning stages which will have retail and residential areas as well as a 250-acre business park.
