Crosland Hires Ford as Vice President of Apartments Division

Move Signals Emphasis on New Multifamily Development and Acquisition Activity

Charlotte, N.C., May 4, 2004 Crosland Inc., one of the Southeast’s leading real estate companies, has recruited Adam Ford as vice president of operations for the company’s apartments division. The position is a new one at Crosland, created specifically to allow division executives more opportunity to pursue property acquisitions and new multifamily development.

Ford will report to Jud Little, president of Crosland’s apartments division. He will oversee the 121-person team managing Crosland’s multifamily portfolio, which currently consists of 27 properties and nearly 5,000 units. In addition to developing, owning and managing luxury apartment communities, Crosland is active in the development of affordable housing. In conjunction with the Charlotte Housing Authority, the company recently completed two HOPE VI affordable communities in Charlotte; The Park at Oaklawn and Arbor Glen I. Ford will concentrate on continuing to improve customer service throughout Crosland’s diverse apartment communities. Crosland won CEL & Associates’ 2003 National Multifamily Customer Service Award for Excellence for the fourth consecutive year.

“Adam’s broad business background and experience in consumer products will contribute a fresh perspective to our apartment operation,” said Jud Little. “We are planning to grow our apartment portfolio significantly and Adam will help us achieve that growth.”

Crosland has created several new key positions in recent months as part of its expansion strategy. Perry Reader recently opened the Crosland office in Orlando while Mike Wiggins joined the retail division as senior vice president.

Previously, Ford worked with management consulting firm Bain & Company in Atlanta, where he provided strategic counsel to clients in a variety of industries, including real estate. He was an executive with Procter & Gamble in Charlotte for six years before earning a master’s in business administration from Harvard University. His bachelor’s degree, also in business administration, is from the University of North Carolina–Chapel Hill.
