|  |  | Smith Joins Crosland as VP of Multi-Family in FloridaOrlando, Fla., April 7, 2006 – Phillip A. Smith has joined Crosland Inc., one of the Southeast’s leading real estate companies, as vice president-development manager for Crosland’s multi-family projects in Florida. He will be responsible for the development, design and construction of Crosland’s multi-family rental communities and will work with Crosland’s apartments division President Jud Little, Florida division President Perry Reader and Senior Vice President of Retail Mike Wiggins to advance the company’s strategic plan for mixed- and multi-use developments in Florida.
In his management role, Smith is responsible for site acquisition, feasibility studies, managing and retaining design professionals, obtaining project financing, gaining entitlements and regulatory approvals, as well as managing general contractor activities during project construction. Smith will be based in Tampa.

Over the past ten years, Smith has worked on various real estate ventures with private and public companies. Prior to joining Crosland, he was partner and senior vice president at Landquest where he identified, negotiated and developed residential projects in the northeast and southeast U.S. Before that he worked with JPI, Toll Brothers Inc. and Design Associates, Inc. Smith earned his masters in architecture from Harvard University and holds a bachelor of architecture from Auburn University where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. |
