Harris Teeter Open at The Shoppes at Currituck Club

Corolla, N.C., June 6, 2006 – The Shoppes at Currituck Club, developed by Crosland, Inc., opened its doors in May with a Harris Teeter grocery store and a wide variety of specialty shops and restaurants. Located at the entrance of the Currituck Club, this neighborhood center will serve residents and visitors alike.

“The tenant mix at The Shoppes at Currituck Club will serve the local community and seasonal tourists,” said Jimmy Penman, leasing associate for Crosland. “From grabbing a quick cup of coffee or ice cream cone to finding the perfect beachwear or fishing gear, customers will find many shopping and dining opportunities.”

Harris Teeter (48,910 square feet) opened its first Corolla location on May 24 following a ceremonial ribbon cutting ceremony. The store is open 24-hours-a-day.

Harris Teeter brings exceptional customer service, top-quality Farmers Market produce, Rancher and Reserve Angus Beef, Fisherman’s Market Seafood, and Fresh Foods Market Deli, Bakery items, along with an extensive selection of national brand and private label products to the families surrounding the new store site.

Joining Harris Teeter will be an additional 8,400 square feet of restaurants and specialty shops. Restaurants include Zero’s Subs, Pizzaz Pizza, Big Buck’s Ice Cream, The Fudgery and Maui Wowi Hawaiian Coffees and Smoothies. Corolla Surf Shop will offer apparel and accessories for skate, surf and swim apparel while Corolla Bait and Tackle will provide fishing gear, supplies and apparel.

“We are delighted to open a second Corolla store at the Currituck Center,” said A.C. Marshall, president of The Fudgery. “Our first store was opened in the Outer Banks more than 25 years ago. Since then we have expanded to 30 stores from coast to coast, but hold a special place in our hearts for this market. Like America itself, the Outer Banks is the land of our company’s beginning too.”

The quaint neighborhood center will feature Crosland’s signature design elements found in their coastal projects which include pastel coloring, hardy plank and expansive covered walkways.

Crosland’s Raleigh office, opened in 1999, is spearheading the neighborhood center development in addition to significant mixed-use, residential and retail centers in the eastern North Carolina. Crosland has also begun additional significant coastal retail developments throughout the Florida market including ventures in Orlando, North Jacksonville, Pasco County and Spring Hill.
