Town Center Plaza to Welcome New Shops and ServicesCharlotte, N.C., Feb. 11, 2008 – The recently renovated Town Center Plaza, one of Charlotte’s original University-area shopping centers, located at Highway 49 and W.T. Harris Boulevard, will soon welcome a variety of specialty shops and services to its retail mix. Bike Line (4,110 square feet) will open in April 2008. The store will carry more than 100 bicycle models from kid’s and family to high-end road and mountain bikes, including Trek and Gary Fisher products. Name brand accessories include famous brands such as Yakima and Saris racks, Nike and Adidas shoes, Mavic and Bontrager wheels, Trek helmets and Nike clothing.
Weight Watchers (1,681 square feet) is the world’s leading provider of weight management services, operating globally through a network of company-owned and franchise operations. Weight Watchers holds over 50,000 weekly meetings where members receive group support and education about healthy eating patterns, behavior modification and physical activity. In addition, Weight Watchers offers a wide range of products, publications and programs for those interested in weight loss and weight control. Kami (3,546 square feet) Chinese and Sushi restaurant will offer a full-service Oriental menu with items such as chow mein, egg foo young, fried rice, sesame chicken and more. Outside dining and take-out will also be available. Finally, the on-site branch of BB&T will be building a new, larger 3,999-square-foot facility at the center. Just following the holiday season, the existing bank will operate out of a trailer until construction is complete in September of 2008.
