At Crosland, stewardship is a prominent part of our daily business life. As developers, we uphold our industry’s pledge to be good stewards of the land. We are members of professional organizations like Urban Land Institute, Nature Conservancy, Real Estate and Builders Industry Coalition, National Association of Industrial and Office Properties, International Council of Shopping Centers and National Multi-Housing Council. These affiliations help us best define and implement socially responsible development plans.
Similarly, we embrace philanthropy, believing that this funds the future. Giving brings about positive change in the lives of individuals – for those who receive our gifts as well as we who give them. It strengthens the not-for-profit institutions with whom we partner, and it builds strong communities. Crosland actively supports fundraising campaigns that meet the changing needs of families, youth and seniors. Programs we assist include those that benefit housing, education, healthcare, the environment and the arts. We designate funds to contribute to these efforts, and our associates volunteer to sustain them. Housing Upholding a legacy of commitment to affordable housing, John Crosland, Jr. served as founding chair of Habitat for Humanity of Charlotte in 1983. Our associates are devoted to upholding the organization’s building programs by participating in Adopt-A-House campaigns with our business partners. Education We contribute to local college and university fundraising campaigns and support programs such as Junior Achievement, Head Start and Children’s Scholarship Fund. Healthcare Each year, our associates participate in walk-a-thons and blood drives and make personal contributions to such organizations as the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation and National Kidney Foundation. Efforts complement Crosland’s corporate giving to these groups and to area hospitals. Our Triangle area employees also partner in social programs at the Chatham Creek Rest Home in Cary. Environment Bound by a pledge to responsible management of the environment, Crosland actively supports the Nature Conservancy, Audubon Society, Catawba Lands Conservancy, Sierra Club and land conservancy initiatives. The Arts Crosland is an annual supporter of the Arts and Science Council, several arts organizations such as the Charlotte Symphony, Opera Carolina and North Carolina Dance Theater and was a major contributor to the creation of the North Carolina Blumenthal Performing Arts Center. If you believe your organization qualifies for a gift from Crosland, please submit your request in writing, addressed to Stewardship Committee, Crosland, 227 West Trade Street, Suite 800, Charlotte NC 28202. |
