Crosland’s Jim Anderson Wins Triangle Business Journal 40 Under 40 Leadership AwardRaleigh, N.C., May 4, 2009 – Jim Anderson, Crosland LLC’s vice president of land development and director of Raleigh operations, was named a 2009 recipient of the Triangle Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 Leadership Award. The award honors the Triangle’s most influential and highly accomplished young leaders who play major roles in their organizations, have achieved significant career milestones and are heavily focused on community service. Anderson was recognized at the awards gala on Friday, May 1 at the Crabtree Marriott in Raleigh. “We are both pleased and honored to have Jim Anderson recognized for his outstanding achievements by the Triangle’s most prestigious business newspaper,” said Crosland’s CEO Todd Mansfield. “Jim’s history of success in real estate and dedication to giving back to the community makes him a model leader within Crosland.” Anderson joined Crosland in 2003 with the charge to create new residential and mixed-use communities throughout the Triangle market. With Anderson’s leadership, the company’s land development group has experienced many successes. The group is currently working on five residential projects in Chapel Hill, Knightdale, Pittsboro and Durham, N.C. including their largest project, Bethpage, which was approved in 2007 for 1,300 residential units, 500,000 square feet of office space and 150,000 square feet of retail near Research Triangle Park. Anderson began his career as a real estate developer in 1997 after five years of service in the Army. He began working for the John R. McAdams Company, one of the Triangle’s best-known civil engineering companies, and then moved into the development industry by joining Duke Realty and later Crosland. Anderson participates in a number of community organizations in the Triangle. He currently serves on the Triangle's Urban Land Institute executive committee and has previously served as president of the Triangle Real Estate and Construction Veterans (TREACV) and the RTP Rotary Club. He is the incoming president of the Home Builders Association of Durham, Orange and Chatham counties. Crosland employs 85 people in the Raleigh-Durham market and currently has more than 1,400 multi-family units under development, 750,000 square feet of retail space and six single-family communities that include 3,000 residential lots purchased or under contract.
