Blakeney is located on all four quadrants of the intersection of Rea Road and Ardrey Kell Road, just two miles from a I-485 interchange in south Charlotte. Blakeney offers a place to live where retail, offices, services and recreation are all within reach.
This 270-acre multi-use development will include single-family attached and detached homes, apartment homes, retail, commercial, and office development. Forty-five acres have been preserved for 1.5 miles of greenways and wetlands along the Flat Branch Creek. A 2-acre community green shown above, Blakeney Park, will offer walking trails to the village shops in the retail center as well as play areas for children and sitting areas.

The shopping area of Blakeney will encompass 495,000 square feet of retail space upon completion including the neighborhood shops and the anchor row. The neighborhood shops will offer a plaza area with a fountain and open areas to attract outdoor dining and entertainment. Crosland has already announced the Harris Teeter will anchor the village shops, and is expected to open in January of 2006. Several more leases have been signed.
Blakeney Professional Center, located in the southwest quadrant, offers approximately 220,000 square feet of office space. Kids R' Kids, a child learning development center will occupy 2 acres, will open in late 2005. Other tenants are several surgeons, dentist and orthodontists, Piedmont Eye Associates, Christian Research Center, State Farm and Albright Internal Medicine among many others.

Blakeney Greens is the first neighborhood in the northeast part of the development with 364 homes and townhomes built by Saussy Burbank and Ryan Homes. Blakeney Preserve is the second neighborhood to be built, which will offer 216 single-family homes by Pulte. A sales office is expected to open in Spring 2005.
